Audio Book Review
The Downloaded 2: Ghosts in the Machine is exactly the kind of sci-fi sequel you hope for—bigger, twistier, and wonderfully mind-bending. Set in 2555, the Phoenix colonists are back, juggling impending planetary doom, splintering missions, and the terrifying prospect of uploading their consciousnesses again. I loved how the story bounces between Captain Letitia Garvey’s push toward Zeta Tucanae and Roscoe Koudoulian’s Mars-bound colony—right up until fate forces him into the quantum system too. Once everyone is re-uploaded, the appearance of digital duplicates adds a delicious layer of mystery and tension.
Brendan Fraser’s narration is a standout; his gravelly warmth suits the high-stakes tone perfectly, and he keeps the suspense simmering without ever overdoing it. The audio quality is excellent—clean, consistent, and polished from start to finish. It’s one of those audiobooks you put on “just for twenty minutes”… and suddenly an hour has flown by. A real treat. Audio Book Review Nov 2025
